Candidates for Breast Implants Surgery
Since the introduction of such televisions shows as Extreme Makeover and The Swan, breast augmentation has become increasingly popular and, in fact, the most practiced plastic surgery procedure. Breast augmentation requires a surgeon to insert breast implants into the breast in one of three locations: subglandular, partial submuscular or complete submuscular. These breast implants are filled with either saline, a salt-water solution, or silicone. Silicone implants are generally preferred by woman with smaller breasts or women undergoing reconstructive surgery as these patients have less tissue to cover the implant and saline implants are more likely to ripple. However saline implants, if ruptured, can be absorbed by the body, as opposed to silicone implants, which are not. If considering breast implants, it is best to meet with a certified plastic surgery specialist in order to determine which style of implant would be right for you.
