Plastic Surgeon Background Information

Plastic surgery includes a group of procedures that are used to enhance the appearance. These procedures can be used to rejuvenate the facial area, to reshape the body, or to enlarge and/or lift the breasts. Plastic surgery is often performed to offset aging or heredity, or to enhance the appearance after an injury or disease. If the surgery is not for purely cosmetic reasons, then the surgery is often referred to as reconstructive plastic surgery. The most common types of breast enhancement surgery include breast augmentation, breast lift and breast reduction. In some cases, breast reduction is performed for medical reasons, and it can be covered by insurance. But, plastic surgery for cosmetic reasons is never covered by insurance. It is best to consult a board certified plastic surgeon when considering cosmetic or reconstructive plastic surgery.
